Last but not least, welcoming our newest team member, Jess (& soon .. Daisy, the therapy dog)🌸

"My name is Jess Palmer and I officially joined Kirsten Talbot Speech Therapy in February 2026. I have been working as a speech therapist in private practice since 2023, with a passion for paediatric therapy and early intervention.
I have completed various courses since completing my Masters degree in 2022 at the University of Pretoria. These include PROMT, DIRFloortime and a Basic Introduction to SA Sign Language.

I love working closely with the families and educators of the children who I treat, and look forward to building more meaningful connections that allow us to reach our goals, both in and out of the therapy room. I believe that children learn and grow best when they feel supported and seen.

I am also excited to announce the addition of a therapy dog this year, who will hopefully bring an additional means of emotional regulation to the therapy space. I have previous experience with animal assisted therapy and am passionate about the wonderful results that are seen when an animal is added to the therapy team."

Time to formally introduce our second team member - Tamara 🫶

"My name is Tamara and I'm proud to be part of Kirsten's speechies team 😎

My absolute passion is working with the adult population with acquired brain injury and neurological diagnoses. I have been working in neuro speech therapy for 15 years and I would consider myself a specialised neuro speechie 😎

I have presented numerous topics to the adult population and colleagues on aphasia, Parkinson's, dementia and dysphagia.

I am also involved with UKZN as a clinical lecturer/ tutor at site for the fourth year students🤗 I love sharing my knowledge and getting speechies to fall in love with adults neuro therapy.

My other passions include spending time with my two daughters, being outdoors and am an absolute animal lover" 💕

My name is Kirsten, the owner of Kirsten Talbot Speech Therapy, and I absolutely LOVE the work we get to do everyday. My practice turns 4-years old in 2026 and it has been the most rewarding few years!
We offer services in both, Salt Rock and Ballito, and closely collaborate with other local OT and Physio practices to ensure the best outcomes with all of our clients.

When I am not in the office I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband and dog, Jomo, enjoying sunrises & sunsets, and spending time with friends 😌

I am not the best when it comes to social media, but thank you for following the practice's journey as we do our best to share updates and educate our followers 🫶

It has been a year filled with exciting wins, graceful growth (both personally, and within the business), some speed-bumps and unforgettable memories! 💙

Thank you to everyone who walked through 2025 with us.
We appreciate every single one of you and look forward to sharing some exciting updates coming in 2026.

We will be taking a break from the 12th of December, until the 7th of January 2026.

If I had to ask my younger self if I saw myself working in paediatrics, the answer would be a firm "No", thinking I would be an adult therapist 🧠

Since starting my practice, implementing Floortime Principles, and managing the progress, there is honestly nowhere else I would rather be 🧸
The answer to "Why do I use a FloorTime Approach?" is simply, "it's natural and THE BEST!" 🌟

With a heart filled with gratitude, thank you to each and every person who voted for my practice as "Best Speech Therapist" in the "Best of Ballito 2025 Reader's Choice Awards" 💙✨

Turning 3 years old, and winning the title of "Best Speech Therapist" for the third year in a row has left me humbled!
This would not have been possible without the love and support from my family, husband, friends, mentors, colleagues and clients..

Here's to the second half of 2025, and making each moment count! 🚀
We have had things shuffle around behind the scenes, resulting in our silence, but will be sharing some exciting updates with you all soon.

After 18 months, we're saying a bittersweet goodbye to our incredible speech therapist, Amber. It feels like just yesterday this "little person with a huge, bubbly personality" joined our team, and she's certainly leaving a huge Amber-shaped hole in our hearts! 💙

Dedicated, patient, kind, and confident – these are just a few words that describe Amber perfectly. She's touched and impacted so many families with her hard work, determination, and excellent level of service, and we're truly going to miss her.

As Amber embarks on new adventures in Johannesburg, we know Joburg has gained another piece of gold. Amber-mam, you've built such a beautiful name for yourself. Go out there and grab every opportunity that comes your way! ✨

2025 has been off to a wonderful and busy start! We have been quiet on social media, but very active behind and on the scenes 🚀

During April our team attended a 3 day course learning more about Oromyofunctional Disorders and Therapy.
We are excited to announce that Myofunctional Therapy is now offered at Kirsten Talbot Speech Therapy 🤩

We will share more information regarding this area of intervention with you all, soon!
