Sleeping in contact lenses increases the risk of infections as well as reduces the amount of oxygen to the eye.

There are contact lens brands on the market that do allow for extended contact lens wear. Make sure you discuss the option with your Optometrist if you plan to sleep in contact lenses.

As an Optometrist my opinion is always this... I'm not a fan of extended wear contact lenses, I do not advocate for them but if you want to sleep in them, wear the correct brand (that is made for that) and make sure you do clean them still.

Remember: Short term conveniences, may lead to long term issues.

Multiple Sclerosis, also known simply as MS, is an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system.

The cause is unknown. MS is more likely to appear in women aged 20–40 years than in other age groups.
In MS,the communication problems between the brain and body can lead to major damage to the nerves.
It affects more women than men.

MS often affects the optic nerves, causing inflammation known as optic neuritis. Optic neuritis can cause vision problems, including:

Blurred vision
Blind spots
Double vision
Pain or difficulty with eye movement
Loss of vision in one eye

Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month is all about raising awareness, take some time this month to educate yourself!
