Bleeding: the first step is pressure
For most cuts and wounds, your priority is simple:
• Apply firm, direct pressure with a clean dressing
• Keep pressure on and elevate if appropriate
• If blood soaks through, add more layers (don’t remove the first layer)
• Escalate if bleeding won’t stop or the wound is deep

First Aid Tip 2: Fever vs Emergency Signs

Fever isn’t always the emergency. These signs are.
A temperature can be managed, but urgent escalation is needed if you see:
• Difficulty breathing
• Persistent vomiting / dehydration signs
• Unusual drowsiness or confusion
• Rash that spreads quickly
• Seizure activity (especially febrile seizures)

Your site should have a clear escalation plan and contact protocol.
