Wendywood Development Centre is accepting applications for the 18-month Occupational Certificate: Child & Youth Care Work (NQF 5, 190 credits), an accredited qualification that develops therapeutic, trauma-informed skills for real-world care settings.
📘 Programme Overview
A structured, blended qualification designed to equip learners to provide holistic developmental care in Child & Youth Care Centres (CYCCs). You’ll gain the competence to manage behaviour, conduct developmental assessments, and advocate for children’s rights.
💡 How It Works
• Starts 4 Feb 2026
• Weekly sessions (Wednesdays 08:30–12:00) at WDC Training Academy, Wendywood Sandton
• 500 logged practical hours in a registered CYCC
• 12 months theory + 6 months practical
• Modules include Human Development, Assessment, Legislation & Supervision
🎓 Entry Requirements
• Grade 11, Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent
• Pre-assessment required
💰 Programme Fees
R 15 675 total (includes QCTO materials + Level 1 First Aid Course)
• R 1 500 non-refundable application fee
• 60 % due on registration, 40 % within 90 days of start

• Apply behaviour support and life-space counselling
• Maintain safe, planned care environments
