mHBOT follow-up 🫁✨ (honest review)
So I tried mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy (~1.4 ATA) and wanted to give a proper update:
Sleep: pretty normal 😴
Run: felt the same 🏃♀️
Overall: no huge, noticeable difference (yet)
I did feel relaxed after — but also… I was lying still for an hour, so that plays a role.
The reality check:
There are so many factors that affect recovery:
-nutrition 🥗
-stress levels 😅
-sleep 💤
-training load 🏃♀️
-even just a weekend away/reset
So it’s hard to credit one session of anything as a game-changer.
On the science side:
✔️ It does increase oxygen availability slightly
❗ But most strong evidence (like for wound healing) is at higher-pressure medical hyperbaric therapy
→ This is more of a wellness tool, not a miracle fix
Quick note on my readings:
SpO₂ was 100% before and 98% after — which is completely normal.
Pulse oximeters can vary slightly depending on things like movement, circulation, or even which finger is used, so nothing major to read into there.
My take:
If you enjoy it and it makes you feel good — go for it 🤍
Placebo or not, feeling better is still valid.
But… it’s expensive 💸
And probably not something I’d rely on as a primary recovery method.
Bottom line:
Helpful tool? Maybe.
Essential? Probably not.
