We are a manufacturing and marketing company. We design, develop, manufacture, supply and install warning equipment(devices) Lights and Sirens for emergency, law enforcement and related vehicles. We market our products to relevant government departments. our target market is the SAPS, Emergency Medical Services,Provincial and Metro Police, Security and Mining companies, Airports etc. With our main target market being government, our product is classified as high value items and involve Technical Specification with test reports conducted by the relevant authorities, generally SABS.

Company History

Hazard Emergency Systems was founded by Richard Ireland and Andy Burton. In 1985 Chris Bam and Ed Kemsley bought Hazard Emergency Systems. Hazard Electronics introduced the emergency lights and sirens market to South Africa and has been a leader in the South African Market since its establishment in 1971. Hazard Electronics monopolised the market as sole manufacturer and provider of emergency lights and sirens until 1986. In the year 2003 Manamela Investments (Pty) Ltd acquired 26% shares of the company, Fred Manamela was appointed as director and chairman of the board, the company name was then changed from Hazard Electronics to Hazard Bonako. In July of 2012 Mr Chris Bam and Ed Kemsley sold their shares to Fred Manamela who then took over as C.E.O of Hazard Bonako (Pty) Ltd. Mr Manamela was funded by the National Empowerment Fund. Sight, Sound and Safety are terms that have become synonymous with Hazard Bonako (Pty) Ltd over the past four decades, since 1971. Hazard Bonako (Pty) Ltd’s long legacy of excellence has led Hazard Bonako (Pty) Ltd to become known as the ’Warning lights and sirens Specialists. ShareHolding
