We have pioneered a wholesome approach to fertility, supporting our patients medically, physically and emotionally. Our doctors are registered reproductive specialists with the South African Medical and Dental Council and have a collective experience of over 150 years. We are also the first fertility clinic to receive the converted ISO 15189 accreditation which demonstrates our facility meets the high quality, performance, technical expertise standards. We do everything in our power to ensure that you arrive as a patient and leave as a parent. We understand that infertility is one of life’s most difficult challenges medically, emotionally and financially and we have the experience, support and staff to help you through your fertility journey. We begin with a structured and co-ordinated series of investigations to understand what the cause of the infertility is. Once that is established we work closely with you to develop an individualised holistic treatment plan in order to achieve your family dream in the shortest time frame possible. Most couples only come to us after many unsuccessful experiences – pain that could have been avoided if we were approached sooner. If you are looking for a fertility specialist Vitalab and our dedicated industry leading team are here and willing to provide you with the best medical care the industry has to offer.

Adenomyosis is a condition that, until relatively recently, received very little attention in medical research. Today, the conversation is evolving - and so is our understanding.
In this insightful podcast by International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, two respected experts - Tina Tellum and Joel Naftalin - explore:
• How understanding of adenomyosis has progressed over the past decade
• The challenges of both underdiagnosis and overdiagnosis
• Its potential impact on fertility
• How clinicians approach patients with no symptoms
• Why careful, individualised assessment matters
For anyone navigating a diagnosis - or simply trying to better understand their body - this conversation offers valuable perspective grounded in evolving evidence.
Please note: The views shared in this podcast are those of the speakers and are not intended as medical advice or a substitute for consultation with your treating doctor.
At Vitalab, we believe awareness should be rooted in accuracy, context, and compassion — especially when the science is still evolving.
Adenomyosis is more common than many realise - yet it often goes undiagnosed.
Because its symptoms can overlap with conditions like fibroids or endometriosis, many women spend years searching for answers to pain, heavy periods, or fertility challenges without clear direction.
In this video, Dr Yossi Unterslak unpacks:
• What adenomyosis is
• Why it can be difficult to diagnose
• How it may impact fertility
• Treatment options available - including those for patients trying to conceive
Adenomyosis does not mean the end of your fertility journey. But it does require the right diagnosis, the right guidance, and a treatment plan tailored to you.
If you’ve been experiencing symptoms or have concerns about how adenomyosis may be affecting your fertility, it’s worth having a conversation with a specialist.
At Vitalab, we believe informed patients are empowered patients - and that every journey deserves clarity, care, and respect.
This Easter, many families celebrate renewal, hope, and new beginnings.
For some, this season is also a reminder of dreams that are still unfolding.
Egg freezing may help preserve fertility options for the future - whether you are focusing on your career, your health, or simply waiting for the right time.
Every fertility journey is different. Having information and support can make all the difference.
At Vitalab, we walk this path with you — at your pace, in your time.
On this Good Friday, we pause to reflect on themes of hope, faith, resilience, and new beginnings.
At Vitalab, we are mindful that for many people the journey to parenthood can feel long and uncertain. Today, we hold space for those who are still waiting, still trying, and still believing.
May this day bring moments of quiet strength, comfort, and renewed hope - wherever you are on your journey.
Wishing our patients, colleagues and friends a peaceful and pleasant Good Friday .
Happy Easter to all from Vitalab Sandton

Treatment Options & Future Fertility
Treatment for an ectopic pregnancy depends on several factors, including its size, location and whether symptoms are present.
In some cases, careful monitoring may be all that is needed. Others may be managed with medication to stop the pregnancy from developing further. When bleeding or rupture occurs, surgery may be required to protect the patient’s health.
Although losing a fallopian tube can feel frightening, many individuals are still able to conceive naturally or with fertility treatment afterwards. Follow-up care and personalised guidance are essential to support future pregnancy planning.
If you’ve experienced an ectopic pregnancy, know that you are not alone — and that support and treatment options are available.
An ectopic pregnancy can sometimes begin with subtle signs.
You may notice a positive pregnancy test that appears faint or hormone levels that are rising more slowly than expected. However, one of the most important warning signs is severe pain on one side of the abdomen.
Some individuals may also experience light spotting or feel dizzy — particularly if internal bleeding occurs. These symptoms should never be ignored.
If you suspect something isn’t right, seeking medical care urgently can be life-saving. Early diagnosis allows for safer management and better protection of future fertility.
Your wellbeing matters. Trust your body and seek help when you need it.
