Today is 💚 World Cerebral Palsy Day 💚
I have the privilege of working with some beautiful children who have Cerebral Palsy and their incredible families. And while it’s me working with them, it’s them who have taught me. They have taught me what bravery is, they have taught me that no mountain can’t be moved and that every small shift counts! They have taught me that everything is better when you smile and their parents and families have taught me what strength is.
These children are amazing. They fight everyday to achieve things we don’t even have to think about. They go through countless tests and surgeries with numerous doctors and have weekly therapy sessions that are often harder than our hardest gym session. They do this everyday, and still, they smile.
My message today is to please change the way you look at children with Cerebral Palsy. Don’t look at them and think ‘shame’, don’t see all the things they can’t do. Look at them and think WOW! Think of all the things they have overcome and all the things they have achieved.
These children have special needs because they are special people 💚
I am proudly wearing my green ribbon today in honor of all people with Cerebral Palsy and their families.
