Hi, my name is Rowan McGregor, and I am a child of God.
For years, my life was a mess. Addiction ruled over me, making everything feel broken and hopeless. I felt lost, like I was fighting alone, just trying to climb out of a deep hole with no way out. I thought my purpose was to struggle and survive, but I didn’t know real life was waiting for me on the other side of surrender.
My addiction took everything from me—even my health. In one month, I had two heart attacks. I should have died, but God had other plans. When I walked through the gates of Yahweh Rapha, I felt something shift. My cravings disappeared instantly. The addiction that had controlled me for so long lost its power. Suddenly, I saw clearly—drugs had never been the real problem. The real battle was in my heart. And I wasn’t alone. Everyone around me had been running from something, turning to addiction for relief.
That’s when I realized how important your environment is. The people you surround yourself with can either lift you up or pull you down. And for the first time, I was surrounded by people who wanted change—just like me.
The biggest moment of transformation came on December 31st, 2023, at 11 p.m., when I stepped into the waters of baptism. That night, I made my final decision: I was giving everything—my past, my mistakes, my pain—to God. No more half-measures. No more holding on to the old life. I was ready to start fresh.
I finally understood that God wasn’t trying to hurt me—He was shaping me. He wasn’t tearing me down; He was building me up into the person I was meant to be. Once I let go and trusted Him completely, everything changed. My life turned around in ways I can’t even explain.
I’m alive today because God kept me alive. Every day, He leads me forward. Now I see clearly—every door He closed was for my protection, and every door He opened was for my purpose.
I can finally live because I have died to my old self. My life is no longer mine; it belongs to Him. Keeping God at the center of everything isn’t just something you decide—it’s something you experience in His love, His presence, and His faithfulness, every single day.
His timing is perfect. His plan is greater than anything I could imagine. No one—not a single person—can stop what He is doing in my life. I thank God every day for my past, because He turned it into something beautiful. Today, I stand as living proof of His love, His power, and the undeniable truth that God is real.
