The Courage of a Mustard Seed. ๐ฑ
Perhaps you experienced the absence of people when times were tough...
Maybe no one applauded you for your good work?
What if you feel like no one noticed you, in times where you felt pressed down, or covered, just like a mustard seed that is burried in the soil.
What if I told you, that all those situations where no one noticed you, was actually the time where personal courage was born?
Like a mustard seed, no one is there to speed up the process of growth, the seed is all by itself, in the soil, quietly growing in the dark, under pressure, while no one can truely observe the growth. Until one day, when small progress can be observed.
From the outside, nothing may appear to be happening with this seed, since we cannot see any progress. But under the surface, and within the mustard seed, roots are forming, strength is developing and resilience is taking shape.
For the seed, the quality of the process is far more important than the speed of growth. The seed does not compare itself to the forests, nor demand immediate sunlight.
The seed simply grows.
Perhaps you feel like that small mustard seed...
Maybe you are feeling alone, small in a big world, pressed down by responsibilities and expectations, or perhaps burried beneath uncertainties, disappointment, or fighting a silient battle that no one else can see.
It takes courage for the mustard seed to go through the process of growth. For this mustard seed, growth is not loud and observant, but rather consistent.
This mustard seed stays in the process long enough to grow, and trust that something will happen without seeing it.
All that the mustard seed has is courage and to realise that small, does not mean powerless.
One day, that seed that seemed insignificant becomes a tree that shelters others and provides protection and safety.
Perhaps, just like that small mustard seed, you feel scared, small and uncertain to take the first step towards becoming.
When you have courage, it does not mean that you are not fearful, visible all the time, being applauded for your work, or not feeling small or scared of failing. Courage means to move forward even when you do feel small and scared.
If you feel small, overlooked, or pressed down in this season, do not mistake it for weakness. The size of your beginning does not define the reach, strength, or beauty of your becoming.
As the saying goes, "Even the tiniest seed carries the courage to become a tree - and so do you."
Be proud of yourself for who you are, who you are slowly becoming and where you find yourself in this present moment. You are not failing, you are strengthening your own roots, watering your mustard seed, so that strength and resilience are formed. If this process is happening underneath the surface where no one can observe, give youself an applause, be patient and slowly check in with yourself, because a mustard seed does not compare itself to other seeds in nature, it only checks-in with itself, to make sure that the soil, sunlight and water are adequate to grow and break through the surface!
Take care of your own mustard seed! ๐ชด
