Looking for toys to use with toddlers in speech therapy can be hard as this age group can be tricky to keep engaged at times. In addition, toddlers have a much shorter attention span so you can't do the same activity for 20 or 30 minutes.
I have a few favourites that I always go back to, and the kids seem to love it too.
1. Melissa and Doug Sound Puzzles: You can use it to work on making choices, imitating, requesting, labeling and prepositions (in, out, inside).
2. Spinagain: Use it for turn-taking, requesting, verbs (go, spin) preposition (on).
3. Ramp Racer: You can use it to work on expanding vocabulary (stop, go, car, fast) and forming sentences ("Car go.", "Blue car go.", "Red car fast.")
4. Melissa and Doug Fishing Game: Use it for following instructions, forming sentences ("Catch fish."), turn-taking and requesting.
5. Animal Stacking Cubes: I love this game when working on prepositions and sentences ("Dog in house.", "Cow in front."). It also works for following instructions.
6. Melissa and Dough Pound and Roll Tower: You can work on turn-taking, requesting and prepositions (in, inside).
