Van Wyk Optometrist At Colin van Wyk Optometrist we strive to provide quality and efficient service. We also have Wise Eye Reading Academy and a Low vision Centre.

We are proud of our full comprehensive 45 minute eye test where we make use of the latest technology combined with years of experience. We provide a large selection of frames, sunglasses and contact lenses, as well as all the extras like cases, cords, cleaning kits, clip-ons, UV shields, ready made readers ect. We also have an onsite lab to assist with repairs and cutting of spectacle lenses. As an additional service we also have a Wise Eye Reading Lab where we help children become better, faster and more efficient readers. In 2008 we opened a Low Vision centre to accommodate the increasing demand for low vision services in the Helderberg Area. We provide a comprehensive low vision assessment and have a full range of low vision devises like magnifiers, telescopes, and electronic equipment as well as other assistive devises to help improve the quality of life of all our low vision clients and their families.

Eye Care Awareness Month is celebrated from September 21 to October 18, with this years theme: "Love Your Child's Eyes".

This initiative emphasises the importance of vision in childhood development, education, and overall well-being.

South African Optometric Association are thus excited to announce their ‘Futuristic Glasses Competition,’ inviting kids to draw their vision of what glasses will look like in the future. Children will have the opportunity to tap into their imaginations while learning about the importance of healthy vision.

Great prizes up for grabs, so get creative and draw your vision of futuristic spectacles!
