SureSlim I SureHealth and *intermittent fasting*

Our plans are based on fasting periods of 5 hours or more (maximum 7 hours) between your breakfast lunch and dinner and 10 to 12 hours at night.

We should all have a ‘built-in’ 12 hour fast at night / when we sleep. Try and eat dinner by 6pm whenever possible.
This allows a significant drop in insulin levels and human growth hormone is released which breaks down your fat and tones your body during all the fasting periods.

This fasting method speeds up your metabolism by balancing and stabilising the hormones that control body weight.

*What happens* when you fast:
Fasting gives your body time to recalibrate itself instead of keeping it busy digesting food all the time.

Your insulin levels drop because your body doesn’t have to deal with incoming food and the processes involved all the time.

Your metabolism speeds up.
Your hunger decreases over time.

Staying hydrated while you are fasting is very important.

Everyone’s body is different and every journey unique.
One thing is the same though - it takes dedication and consistency from everyone to see and feel results.

Hello June! New month, new week. The easiest way to refocus and take control back is to *focus on the golden rules* - it will help your metabolism to wake up from ‘sleep mode’ and start to fire!

Golden rules recap:
🔹 3 Balanced meals per day
🔹 5 or more hours between meals
🔹 NO snacking between meals!
🔹 A minimum of 2L of water daily
🔹 Follow your program guidelines
🔹 Avoid pasta, bread, sugary & high carbohydrate foods
🔹 Weigh your food correctly as per your program

A few ‘oops’ meals here and there will not ‘derail’ your journey.. but giving up *will*!

*BUSTING THE BLOAT*

Bloating is usually accompanied by abdominal distension or outward swelling.
Other signs include a hardening of the stomach, excessive flatulence, constipation and cramps.

*Why* do we bloat?
Eating certain foods, drinking carbonated drinks, constipation, a sluggish gut or gut sensitivity caused by stress or anxiety.

Organs in the digestive system become stretched and you feel bloated.
Sometimes dairy products, pulses like beans, chick peas, lentils, broccoli, cauliflower, onion and cabbage can also cause bloating.

Apples are filled with fructose and can cause bloating.

Avoid these foods for a period of time if you feel bloated.

Lactose, fructose and gluten can cause food intolerances.

Try and pinpoint what triggers your feeling of bloating and don’t consume those foods for a period.

Cucumber helps to flush out sodium and helps with bloating.
