Just attended the annual congress of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) in Amsterdam. Great talk by Dermatologist, Dr Claryse on how much misinformation there is with regards to dermatology content on social media. A study published on psoriasis on YouTube videos showed that 52% were misleading. 11% were dangerous and only 20% had evidence-based information. Of all dermatology content posted on social media, only about 5% were posted by Dermatologists.
It is our duty as Dermatologists to post more evidence-based content.
