Today, the 27th of February 2026, the CEO of Far East Rand Regional Hospital, Mr. Sonwabo Lindani applauded Dr. Rodney Pheto, CEO of Dr. Yusuf Dadoo District Hospital during his farewell party.

The CEO reflected on a relationship grounded in respect, shared purpose, and service to community healthcare.

He acknowledged that letting go of a leader of Dr. Pheto’s caliber is never easy, yet growth calls leaders to embrace new challenges.

Mr Lindani described Dr Pheto as a compassionate, principled, and solution-oriented leader.

He concluded by expressing sincere gratitude for his contribution and wished him every success and continued impact in his future endeavours.

Today, we were honored to receive a Provincial Support Visit from the Provincial Team representing the Health Social Work Office. The purpose of the visit was to conduct Child Protection clinical and record-keeping audits, as well as to provide overall provincial support to our department.

The team visited our Social Work Department and was joined by representatives from Quality Assurance and Patient Administration.

The visit was led by Ms. M. Tshoma, DD: Social Work Manager – Policy (OHTS), who guided the audit and engagement process.

The session was constructive and provided valuable insights to strengthen compliance, improve documentation standards, and enhance child protection services within the department.

Sanibonani, today I come with a lot of gratitude towards the service, professionalism and kindness, we've received at FAR EAST RAND REGIONAL HOSPITAL.
Well I couldn't get the names of everyone, but I'll just mention the important details.

Firstly the security guards all of them , the stuff at the reception, the x ray ladies, then my heroes of the day ,the male nurse, that I found at casualty and Dr Singh And his team who performed my son's operation, I will never forget you guys , then comes the unbreakables , izikhokho zothando nesineke , ward 2 nurses ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A LOT OF LOVE TO YOU GUYS , last but not least the cooks , our kids were fed proper nutritional meals that tasted good . Ngyabonga kakhulu ,IZANDLA ZEDLULA IKHANDA 🙏🙌.

THIS IS SIPHIWE ZULU , THE MOTHER OF BABY ZULU(sdudla somfana) WHO IS 18 MONTHS OLD , WHO HAD A BROKEN RIGHT THUMB DUE TO A SLAMMY DOOR.
He was admitted on the 24th Tuesday and released yesterday 26th Feb ,
I thank all the stuff that was present day and night.

FERH's Physiotherapy Department was recently awarded an Excellence in the Physiotherapy Peer Review Project certificate during the National Batho Pele & Innovation Awards. The event was held at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH).
