Far East Rand Regional Hospital participated in the 30th edition of the Soweto Marathon on Saturday as part of its commitment to promoting health and wellness within the community. The hospital’s involvement in this iconic event not only highlights its dedication to improving public health but also serves as an opportunity to inspire its staff and the local population to adopt active, healthy lifestyles.

By engaging in the marathon, Far East Rand Regional Hospital aims to raise awareness about the importance of physical fitness in preventing chronic diseases and improving overall well-being. As one of the key healthcare institutions in the region, their participation will also emphasize their role in supporting events that contribute to social cohesion and community spirit. Whether running, walking, or volunteering, the hospital’s team is excited to take part in this milestone edition of the race.

Message of Appreciation to Ward 4 – Far East Rand Hospital

Good afternoon.

I would like to remain anonymous for personal security reasons, but I want to express my deepest gratitude. I was admitted to Far East Rand Hospital on 07-11-25 after sustaining a gunshot wound at work, and the care I received was truly exceptional.

To the entire team in Ward 4, especially Mphathi in High Care and her amazing team — thank you for the outstanding care and compassion you showed me. To Dr. Mofokeng, the young lady who treated me with such professionalism and kindness, I appreciate you more than words can say. And to the ladies from X-rays, thank you for your patience and support.

I hope to return in person to thank everyone properly. If all government hospitals operated like this one, South Africa would be in an excellent place. Keep up the incredible work. May God bless every one of you.
