Our Story

Hello, I am Tamacin. I am a highly passionate and dedicated family counselor. I have qualified with a Masters degree in early childhood intervention. I also incorporate the use of complementary and alternative medicine within my private practice. My life has never been linear, and for this reason, I have chosen to expand my knowledge and expertise to accommodate understanding the individual as a whole. I offer holistic therapies based on the study of the mind, body, emotions and the human psyche. My belief is that this wider base of knowledge allows me to utilize a variety of tools and modalities, ensuring client satisfaction and an overall personalized service. Networking is also a big part of what I do. Growing relationships with people enables me to create strong bonds and bring the right people together to make a tangible difference in the lives of families. I place a deep value on multidisciplinary teamwork as the needs of families are more reliant on the skills of the collective, rather than those of the individual. My academic merits include a Masters (MECI), honors in Clinical Psychology, B-Psych Internship (trauma and child abuse), BA Socio-Legal studies (Offender Profiling), certification in play therapy, body therapy-rehabilitative and injury massage, infant massage, mindfulness coaching for children and energetic healing. I am continually studying to improve my abilities and services aiding children and families to ensure successful intervention outcomes. My passion has led me to new and exciting challenges. My journey began in 1990. I started volunteering as a young girl by visiting the elderly and orphanages. This would later lead to experiences volunteering throughout South Africa, Africa and Asia in health, social and educational sectors. Humanity has always been a great passion of mine, particularly for children. My adoration for the development of today’s child drives the way I view education in South Africa. Children deserve more than we are currently giving them. There is a desperate call for change. In the fast-paced world we live in, we simply cannot educate our children based on educational philosophies dating back 150 years. By teaching the ways of the past we are robbing the children of a successful future. After all, children make up 30% of our population and they are 100% of our future. Many children battle to self-regulate or cope with their surroundings. They lack the socio-emotional tools to navigate life and the current schooling system. I strongly believe in the need to better equip them. Consequently, I strive to identify and enhance the self-empowerment skills all children already possess and to develop the skills that are lacking.
