I began treating patients with clear aligners (invisible braces) back in 2008, during my time practicing in the UK. Back then, aligners were mostly used for small tweaks—addressing minor orthodontic relapses or making subtle adjustments. Anyone who’s been in the field as long as I have will remember: the tools were limited, and we often felt like passengers in someone else’s treatment plan.

Fast forward to today—and everything has changed.

After years of searching for an aligner system that truly fit the needs of both my restorative dental practice and my patients, I found it. Around four years ago, I began working with ClearCorrect—and it’s been a game-changer.

🦷✨️A patient asked me this week why I became a dentist, and it really made me think back to try and pinpoint that feeling or moment when I knew that this was what I wanted to do with my life.
But the reality is that there was no such moment. Growing up, I was always drawn to helping others feel confident - and nothing lights up a room quite like a healthy, happy smile. Dentistry gave me the perfect balance of science, art, and connection.
I didn't just want to fix teeth - I wanted to build trust, ease fears, and be the reason someone felt better walking out than when they came in.

Parents are often confused and overwhelmed with different opinions when considering orthodontic treatments for their kids.
My take on this as a clinician and parent is simple. If you see there is a problem, why wait? Delaying treatment can cause a drop in self-confidence, which, as we all know, affects every aspect in growing tweens' lives.
We treated this young patient over a 2 year period using both a removable appliance and Myobrace. Any early intervention needs committed parents and enthusiastic children. Compliance is key, but the results are just so rewarding.
