Men, I’m talking to you! 🙋🏽♂️💁♂️
In the lead up to Father’s Day, we observe Men’s Health Week to raise awareness about the importance of men’s health and wellness.
Historically, the campaign focused mainly on heightening awareness of preventable health problems, encouraging early detection and treatments for men, and to support men and boys to engage in healthier lifestyle choices and activities. But today more and more light is shone on the prioritisation of men’s mental health.
The 2025 theme of ‘shoulder-to-shoulder’ encapsulates this notion beautifully; encouraging men to support each other and to normalise men feeling comfortable talking about and prioritising themselves.
I have had the privileged to embark on therapeutic journeys with men identifying as brothers, boyfriends, husbands, fathers, creatives, business owners, adventurers and transgender, and in a world where the growing narrative is about celebrating women, I do want to remind you, a man: Take care of yourself, and mental health IS health.
