Every year, the hosts the Global Shapers Annual Summit in Geneva, Switzerland, where 8000 Global Shapers from 400 city hubs around the world gather to learn and share ideas on how young people can continue to drive dialogue, action, and change in the communities from which they represent.

Today we wish our hub curator, the best of luck as she departs to Geneva to join the delegation of young people that continue to be the drivers of action and change through their participation and engagement.

Central to the World Economic Forum 's Shaping the Future of the New Economy agenda is Accelerating Disability Inclusion.

In line with this, Global Shapers Stellenbosch Hub supports the Stellenbosch Work Centre for Adult Persons with Disabilities which is celebrating 30 years of Supporting the Stellenbosch Community!

They are raising funds to support the next 30 years of helping adult persons with disabilities in and around Stellenbosch develop skills and find employment.

Innovating their way through meetings:

At a recent hybrid meeting our Incoming & Outgoing Curatorship Team mapped out opportunities for the Stellies Hub to have maximum impact during the ongoing pandemic.

Yesterday was an exciting day for our hub
We held our hub elections with the candidates having an opportunity to inform the hub members of their vision for the next curatorship term which was followed by the hub voting.

After the election we hosted an internal workshop conducted by hub member focusing on active citizenry.
The workshop was engaging with hub members and friends of the hub asking questions, providing their views abs offering ideas how to inform citizens of their roles and rights. It was informative and great space to learn resulting in the discussion for follow on discussions on other topics related to active citizenry.

As citizens it is important that we know our rights, our roles and how we can effectively contribute to improving our communities.

We are excited for the next workshops within this series.
