When we become different inside, this is reflected by the way life treats us outside. Self-change is the pre-requisite for external change. From Understanding the Eneagram. Don't wait from things or people to change first, cause that might never happen!

When we safely get in touch with our true emotion in the present, in our bodies, in the here and now. We are able to organically move from raw emotion to Nuanced feeling. Today I experienced feeling proud and thankful, transform into feeling righteously worthy.

I'm busy with my Somatic Experiencing training. During a personal session I was looking at a white rose just outside the room. Like a whisper, but so clear is was telling me that I may surrender.

Healing isn’t about forcing growth or rushing the process. Surrendering doesn’t mean being weak—it means trusting that I don't need to do this by myself.

If you’re in a season of healing, allow yourself grace. Let go of the pressure to be “there” already. Trust the process, trust yourself, and let healing bloom in its own time.

We tend to focus on trauma in our life. But who was/is that person or animal in your life who prevented or safe guarded you from being traumatized after an event?? Or perhaps you have been that person to someone else?

A friend asked me over the weekend what the first step is toward handling conflict better in your relationship. Although there might be tons, I truly believe it starts with self soothing! We WILL say things we don't really want to say when we feel threatened or scared. It's not because we want to, it's because in a specific moment when emotions are heightened, our bodies BELIEVES that we are in danger at it is designed to protect us from whatever that danger is. So we tend to want to protect by attacking, defending or just freezing up/staying quite.
So BEFORE attempting to step into conflict with your partner FIRST calm yourself! Tell your body that it is not in danger. And if you're wondering if you are perhaps in danger talk to someone else about it!!

Regulation refers to the ability to manage and modulate one's emotional, physiological, and behavioral responses to internal and external stimuli. It involves the capacity to calm oneself, focus, and engage in adaptive behaviors, even in the face of challenging or stressful situations.

In the context of trauma, regulation plays a crucial role. When we experience trauma, our regulatory systems can become disrupted, leading to:

1. Hyperarousal: exaggerated startle response, anxiety, or hypervigilance.
2. Hypoarousal: emotional numbing, dissociation, or feelings of being "frozen."
3. Dysregulation: intense emotional shifts, mood swings, or impulsive behaviors.
