🚒🔥 Calling All Future Firefighters and EMTs! 🔥🚒

This summer, from July 13-16, join the 2026 Aims Fire/EMS Xplore Academy and discover how rewarding a career in public safety can be! Learn directly from active firefighters and EMTs from LFRA and other local agencies as you dive into the exciting world of firefighting and emergency services.

📅 Dates: July 13–16, 2026
📍 Location: Aims Community College Windsor Campus, Public Safety Institute
👥 Eligibility: Youth aged 15-18 interested in public safety careers

Get hands-on experience with activities like climbing aerial ladders, rappelling from our training tower, and earning your CPR certification. You'll also learn about team building, nutrition and physical fitness, using personal protection equipment (PPE), search and rescue, ladder operations, fire hose handling, and live fire behavior.

Bobbi Gibb is the first woman to have run the entire Boston Marathon. Gibbs' run in 1966 challenged prejudices and misconceptions about women's athletic capabilities, running without a number because women were banned from competing. It was not until 1971 that the governing body changed its rules and began to sanction women's division marathons. Thanks to pioneers like Gibbs approx 20,000 women will line up.for this years Boston Marathon
