Getting those omega 3’s, healthy fats, protein, vitamins, minerals and fibre in on a chilly Friday morning 🥶 Toasted rye with cream cheese, smoked salmon, avocado, salad, feta and a honey mustard dressing with a squeeze of lemon 🍣🥑🍯🍋 yum! 😋

Getting a good ol’ bowl of fibre goodness in this morning 🌾✅ 40g All-Bran flakes with 1 tsp oat bran, a few dried cranberries for some sweetness & fat free milk ☀️ (❕please opt for full cream milk in your kiddies older than 1 but younger than 5 if no allergies are present)
✅Adding the oat bran (1g in 1 tsp, mostly soluble fibre), to the All-Bran (9g per 40g, mostly insoluble) gives you 10g of your minimum 25g fibre goal per day (age dependent) 🥳
Soluble fibre draws water and helps to soften stools, while insoluble fibre (“the broom”) aids peristalsis and helps one to pass stools. Takeaway point - we need both!! (As well as lots and lots of water 💧 and movement 🏃‍♀️)
For comparison purposes:
- 40g Weetbix (2 biscuits) = 4.8g fibre
- 40g Corn flakes = 0.9g fibre
- 30g plain Otees (let’s be honest - most choose the flavoured alternative 😅) = 1.4g fibre
- 30g plain Cheerios = 2.7g fibre
- 30g Rice crispies = 0.3g fibre
All food fits but it may be better to opt for a high fibre option especially when struggling with constipation 💩
