Shaped by ancient fault lines and the hard quartzitic Table Mountain Sandstone these mountains hide a world of striking geological features - from shallow shelters to deep, hidden passages carved by the ages.

One of the most scenic passes in the Western Cape, Tradouw Pass is where the Tradouw River flows through a deep ravine, connecting the southern and northern sides of the Langeberg mountain range. The name Tradouw comes from a Khoi word meaning “Women’s Path.” Human activity in the area dates back to Stone Age times, and the road through the pass was completed in 1873 by road engineer Thomas Bain and his labour force.

Cape Snow flowers (Syncarpha vestita) also known as Cape Everlasting, these mountain beauties are one of the Cape Fynbos treasures. Large numbers of flowers can resemble fresh snow.
At night they gently close and in the late afternoon sun they look like tiny candles scattered across the slopes.
Nature always knows how to put on a show.
