Kitesurfing & Your Body - Move Well, Recover Well
Kitesurfing is an exciting, powerful sport, and sometimes the body needs a bit of extra care after a harder landing or long session. Here’s a simple, reassuring guide.
If you do feel a sudden ni**le or tweak:
Here’s a simple, calm approach you can follow:
1. Ease off briefly
Give the area a chance to settle by reducing the intensity or taking a short break.
2. Gentle movement
Slow, comfortable range-of-motion usually helps more than complete rest.
Think: ankle circles, easy shoulder rolls, light walking.
3. Keep an eye on it for 24–48 hours
Most mild strains settle with simple movement and relative rest.
When to see a physio:
• If the discomfort isn’t improving
• If you’re unsure which movements feel helpful
• If you want a clear plan to return to kiting confidently
Physiotherapy can help with:
• Calming irritated tissues
• Restoring strength and control
• Improving movement efficiency
• Creating a safe, sport-specific return plan
Your body is adaptable and resilient. With the right support, most kitesurfing ni**les recover well, and you can get back to doing what you love.
If you want guidance on recovery or prevention, we’re here to help!
