Monday Motivation 🌅
A new week means a fresh chance to keep moving forward. Recovery isn’t about perfection — it’s about choosing yourself every single day. If the week feels heavy, take it one step at a time and remember that every healthy choice you make is a sign of courage and growth. This week, choose progress, choose hope, choose you.

World Kidney Day Message from TTS SUDI

Today, on World Kidney Day, TTS SUDI calls on communities to raise awareness about kidney health and the often-overlooked impact of substance use disorders (SUD) on kidney function.

Our kidneys work tirelessly to filter waste, balance fluids, and keep our bodies healthy. However, substance use can place significant stress on these vital organs. Drugs and alcohol may lead to dehydration, high blood pressure, infections, and direct kidney toxicity—factors that can contribute to acute kidney injury or long-term kidney disease.

At SUDI, we believe that protecting kidney health is also about addressing substance use with compassion, education, and access to treatment. Prevention, early intervention, and supportive care can help reduce harm and protect lives.

This World Kidney Day, we encourage everyone to:
• Stay informed about kidney health
• Seek help early for substance use concerns
• Support individuals on the path to recovery
• Prioritize hydration, healthy lifestyles, and regular health checks

Kidney health matters. Recovery matters. Together, we can reduce harm and build healthier communities.

Yesterday we had the wonderful opportunity to conduct a Boogie Woogie Program - SUD (Substance Use Disorder) Awareness Campaign to the amazing little learners at Busy Bee Pre-School and Godisang Day Care. 💛🧸

Through fun activities, music, dancing, and simple conversations, we introduced the children to important messages about SUD and making healthy choices, taking care of themselves, and staying safe as they grow. The Boogie Woogie approach allows young children to learn through play while building early awareness and positive habits.

Seeing the smiles, energy, and enthusiasm from the young ones reminded us why early education and prevention are so important. 🌈 Their curiosity and participation made the day truly special.

A big thank you to the teachers and staff at Busy Bee Pre-School and Godisang Day Care for welcoming us and supporting this initiative. Together we are planting seeds for healthier, brighter futures for our children. 🌱

🎭 Boogie Woogie Puppet Show at Roosevelt Primary School! 🎶

Our outreach team had an amazing time visiting Roosevelt Primary School where we presented our fun and educational Boogie Woogie Puppet Show to the learners. Through music, storytelling, and colorful puppets, we introduced important messages about Substance Use Disorder (SUD) awareness in a way that young minds can understand.

The learners were full of excitement, laughter, and curiosity as they followed the adventures of the puppet characters and learned about making healthy and safe choices. Early education and prevention play a vital role in helping children grow into confident and informed individuals.

A big thank you to the staff and learners of Roosevelt Primary School for welcoming us so warmly. Together, we continue to plant seeds of awareness and empowerment in our communities. 🌱

🌟 "Understanding starts with a conversation. Here’s what happened when our community came together at Thaba Mall."

Today, we engaged with members of the public on the realities of Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and the importance of breaking the stigma surrounding addiction.

It was encouraging to see community members stopping by our stand, asking questions, and learning more about the support and programmes available in Thabazimbi. Conversations like these are important because awareness and understanding are key to building a healthier and more supportive community.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to visit and engage with us today. Together, we can continue to break myths, reduce stigma, and support recovery. 💙
