Job Title: UAA (Unit Administrative Assistant)
Workplace: Mveledzo Day Hospital (Thohoyandou)
Position Type: Permanent
Direct Report: Clinic Manager
Purpose:
To deliver optimal support towards processes and procedures in the nursing unit.
Key Performance Indicators:
•
Attend to and manage telephone calls.
•
Order stationery.
•
Ensure that patients receive correct meals.
•
Order and monitor patient and Doctor beverages.
•
Ensure Doctors tearoom is prepared.
•
Address and escalate patient queries.
•
Capture maintenance requests.
•
Ensure the patient register (admission book) is accurately updated on the GoodX system.
•
Prepare patient document packs for admission.
•
Close patient files.
•
Provide secretarial support to nursing unit staff.
•
Update patient bed numbers on GoodX.
•
Allocate beds to new patients, in collaboration with clinical staff.
•
Billing.
•
Finalise and submit patient files after billing.
•
Capture additional treating Doctors before admission.
Qualifications:
•
Matric.
•
Relevant experience and understanding of the private healthcare industry.
•
Microsoft Office computer literacy.
•
GoodX medical software experience is an advantage.
Skills and Attributes:
•
Strong verbal & written communication skills.
•
Organised.
•
Problem solving.
•
Ability to work under pressure.
•
Team player.

Workplace: Mveledzo Day Hospital (Thohoyandou)
Position Type: Permanent

Purpose:
To deliver safe, comprehensive and quality basic nursing care according to the Scope of practice and Nursing the Mveledzo Day Hospital way that promotes and meets the healthcare needs of patients.
Key Performance Indicators:
•
Delivers comprehensive and quality patient care to meet the health needs of patients.
•
Ensures a therapeutic and safe patient environment by maintaining health and safety standards and complying with infection prevention and control policy.
•
Quality client care principles maintained.
•
Identify, report, investigate and address near-misses and adverse events.
•
Prevents, reports and manages medico-legal risks.
•
Competence in the demonstration and assessment of all relevant clinical procedures and management of risks.
•
Care of theatre equipment.
•
Control of stock and equipment in accordance with Mveledzo Policies.
•
Identifies and addresses continuous professional development (CPD) needs.
•
Sound knowledge of stock management.
•
Knowledge of managing micro-instruments.
•
Adhere to all infection prevention and control protocols.
•
Ophthalmology theatre qualified/experience essential.
Qualifications:
•
Matric.
•
Relevant nursing qualification.
•
Registered with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse.
•
Two years scrub experience in all clinical procedures performed at a Day Hospital.
•
Relevant experience and understanding of the private healthcare industry.
•
Microsoft Office computer literacy.
•
GoodX medical software experience is an advantage.

Good planning and organising skills that contribute to meeting objectives.
•
The ability to display sound judgement in problem-solving.
•
Builds and maintains relationships that facilitate the achievement of goals.
