Blocked, But Not Broken
Chapter 3: When Things Started Changing
It doesn’t change all at once.
That’s what makes it so easy to miss.
At first, it’s small things.
A delayed reply.
A cancelled plan.
A different tone.
Nothing big enough to question…
but enough to feel.
You notice it, but you brush it off.
“They’re just busy.”
“Maybe it’s stress.”
“Maybe I’m overthinking.”
So you adjust.
You become more understanding.
More patient.
More careful.
You start choosing your words.
You start avoiding certain topics.
You start shrinking parts of yourself just to keep the peace.
And without realizing it…
you begin to feel the distance.
The effort that once felt natural…
now feels inconsistent.
The attention that was once constant…
now comes in moments.
And those moments become something you wait for.
Something you hold onto.
Because when they show up again, even briefly, it feels like everything is okay.
Like nothing has changed.
But deep down… you know it has.
You just don’t want to fully admit it yet.
Because admitting it means facing a truth that’s hard to accept:
The version you fell for…
is slowly disappearing.
And you’re left trying to understand
when…
and why…
everything started to change.
To be continued…
