Meet Dr. Terence Moodley, one of our highly skilled GPs, based in Park Square Umhlanga, Durban.

Dr. Moodley has been practicing medicine for 17 years and works with a list of highly trained medical professionals ranging from in house doctors, registered nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy assistants and clinical associates within his clinic.

His practice is the centre for Diabetes excellence and also features a chronic management clinic that focuses on Hypertension, Thyroid, Dyslipidaemia, and HIV medicine management.

Away from his practice, one of Dr. Moodley’s hobbies is flying. He holds an Aviation License, which has afforded him the opportunity of being a Designated Aviation Doctor, allowing him to combine his passion for medicine and flying.

Mental Health Awareness provides a timely reminder that mental health is essential and that those living with mental health issues are deserving of care, understanding, compassion, and pathways to hope, healing, recovery, and fulfillment. After all, that is what we all want and need now more than ever– for ourselves, for our loved ones, for our communities, and for our world.

While it may be that some of us are more vulnerable than others, everyone faces challenges in life that can impact their mental health. After all, just a few months ago, none of us had any idea that all our worlds would be upended by the coronavirus, and that worry, isolation, loneliness, depression and anxiety would become collective experiences shared by literally everyone.

Mental health and physical health are intertwined. One can rarely have one without the other, they feed each other. Especially for children, mental health decides how you move throughout the world. It affects how we think, act, and feel about the world around us. If a child has mental health issues that go untreated, it can shape how that child lives the rest of their life.
