Health MEC Ms Dieketseng Mashego commends the Plastic Surgery team at Mankweng Hospital for their sterling work on Mr Malepe.

This comes after the team successfully removed a massive keloid growth weighing about 3.58kg from Malepe on Tuesday, the 2nd September 2025.

Mr. Malepe who was a long-lost patient of the department, was brought back into the healthcare system through dedication of the surgical team.

She explains that the procedure will not only improve Mr. Malepe’s physical appearance, but brings immense relief, lifting what was described as a 'tremendous weight off his shoulders'

MEC Mashego says the Limpopo Department of Health has, through its surgical team, once again displayed its commitment and reaffirming its mission to provide accessible, high-quality healthcare to people in Limpopo province.

"This is a testament to the world-class healthcare services that Limpopo is capable of delivering. I am proud of our capable staff and the outstanding teamwork displayed at Mankweng Hospital," Mashego indicates.
