Pink eye’ can be caused by a virus, bacteria or allergies
Viral/bacterial conjunctivitis (Pink eye) is very contagious.
The eye appears red and there could be a discharge
It can cause pain, vision problems, sensitivity to light and headaches.
Strict hygiene practices must be followed.

Regular handwashing with soap or alcohol based sanitiser.
All bedding must be washed.
Contact lens use must be discontinued.
Infected individuals must try to isolate.
Avoid contact with pens, utensils and other objects which can transmit the virus.
Visit your optometrist to diagnose and treat or refer.
