By placing silver or gold teeth over a decayed tooth, one would not be solving the problem but merely masking it. The decayed tooth can continue to decay even under the silver/gold which can eventually result in a toothache or loss of the tooth (see the W-silver above)

It is advisable to restore the tooth to rid it of any decay as seen on the above client. This is called a filling or restoration.

Pericoronitis!

This condition often occurs due to an impacted tooth (a tooth that did not "stand" upright).

Signs and Symptoms include:
1. Swelling of the Gums (keeps coming back)
2. Pain may feel like it's traveling throughout the jaw
3. Difficulty with opening the mouth fully
4. Facial swelling may occur

Treatment includes:
1. Surgical Extraction
2. Gum excision
3. Antibiotic treatments

It is wise to visit your preferred dental professional ASAP for an accurate diagnosis and treatment.
