• Specialized Shoes Orthotist/Prosthetist is tertiary qualified Allied Health Professionals who assess and treat the physical and functional limitations of people resulting from illnesses and disabilities, including limb amputations. The role of an Orthotist/Prosthesist role is to assess, prescribe, design, fit and monitor, provide therapy and educate regarding physical and functional limitations of patients resulting from illness and disability. Orthotist/prosthetists treat a wide variety of clients such as children born with a congenital limb deficiency or cerebral palsy, people who have had an amputation following an accident, patients with muscular weakness after a stroke or spinal injury, patients with diabetic foot ulcers including vascular conditions or the elderly patients that require assistive devices.

Foot Pain but is there more?

Foot pain is a common occurrence as it has a wide range of contributing factors, including uncomfortable and incorrect fitting shoes, too much time spent standing, sports injuries, and chronic conditions.
