Introducing Our Annual Family Conference!

This years theme “The Ripple” - understanding how one persons recovery can have a ripple effect throughout the family and their community.

Join us over the Easter weekend as we teach and discuss addiction, recovery and the far reaching impact those in recovery have.

As Jahara celebrates our 10th year we welcome you to join us for what is going to be our best conference yet.

2026 is a very special year for us. We celebrate 10 years of operations this year. In true Jahara fashion everything must be bigger and better this year.

We have developed a phenomenally impactful treatment program that is off to a great start. We are continuing our crèche project this week (following the floods) and we are looking at new alternatives for our step 3 hike following the washing away of the access road.

What is important is Easter - we will host our Family conference on the Easter weekend - kicking off on Thursday evening and concluding on Monday morning. This is something you do not want to miss.

Also for your diaries our big outreach this year will be in October when we will head off to Botswana. Please save up some leave days if you want to join us for that great adventure.

We have loads of other exciting ventures, projects and activities scheduled for the year which we will keep you informed about……..

Oh and our new online supporter program will kick off next week Thursday.

We had a great time at the street party yesterday. Awesome little fun walk, Sanata giving gifts to the kids, our band doing carols and of course a Braai.

What a way to start the Christmas celebrations.

So we are in our last week for the year of building the Creche - hoping to get the roof on (although it may be a little ambitious 😃).

The guys have done some solid work over the last 3/4 weeks - digging foundations, fighting rain, throwing graduation parties, throwing slabs and now building the walls.

From sun rise to sunset the guys have put their blood sweat and tears into this project and should be jolly proud of what they have achieved so far.

Project will commence after new year where larger teams will be sent for all the finishing work.

Can’t wait for the community Christmas evening here in Kampersrus. Carols, fun run, Santa and a movie. As well as good food and drink for everyone.

A quick video of the progress with building the Crèche.

Foundation were dug in very rocky soil. Floors have been done.

We also cleared the area for the playground and dug the sand pit.

Bathroom walls were mended and built up and a roof put over and doors made and installed.

So far so good.
