Ella Breathes Hope

This is us every 2 weeks at the moment. Ella is getting monitored for CF related Diabetes (CFRD) which normally does start in the 20's, however when Ella was in hospital recently her glucose levels were high. Thank goodness for amazing tech as the finger pricking had Ella crying 3-4 times a day, now it is just once every 2 weeks. We are hoping that her glucose levels are down to steroids and once she starts weaning off them then they will normalise and its not actually CFRD. Just another thing that we pray for these days 🙏

Ella got to let her hair down and have some fun. One of her besties took her the pantomime. So lovely and so great to start seeing friends again and doing fun things post hospital 🥳

Just a small snippet of Ella's medication at home since leaving the hospital at the end of November. And when I say small, I mean there is a whole box that she still needs to get through during the next 3 months🦸‍♀️

Hi everyone. Ella and I are asking for the power of sharing please🙏 This is our biggest fight to date in trying to get her life saving medication called Trixacar from Argentina. We are struggling with the accessibility of the CF drug in SA due to patent rights but there is legal work/fight going on in the background but it could take some time.
Ella has spent a total of almost 9 weeks in hospital these past 12 months and no matter how hard we fight at her illness every day, this drug is our final hope. I know many of you won’t know Ella personally but she is such a beautiful soul and so incredibly brave.
