BonXol Distillery is a South African based business, established in the year 2021 in Vosloorus by Mxolisi and Bongani, The aim of the business is to give alcohol consumers a different kind of distilled liquids experience such as CannaGin, Rum & Whiskey. His dream however, came to life 10 years later when he had a conversation with Mxolisi about his long-forgotten dream. Upon agreement, Bongani and
Mxolisi decided to implement the idea of starting their own distillery focusing on gin, whisky, and possibly vodka. Upon implementation, a new idea was proposed, instead of distilling various spirits, rather distil gin and infuse it with cannabis extracts to detect possibilities and downfalls. Through a series of tests and proper research conducted by Mxolisi, it was confirmed possible to infuse gin and other spirits with cannabinoids and cannabis-based terpenes to furnish cannabis flavored spirits. In the course of the implementation of the cannagin, BonXol (combination of Bongani and Mxolisi) was the chosen name for the company that will brew, distil, and bottle the cannagin. The furnished cannagin was also named after BonXol, the manufacture's identity. Why Infuse Cannabis with spirits? For most people and events, alcohol is the major driver of fun and enjoyment. Currently, it is extremely difficult to throw a non-alcoholic event. On the other hand, cannabis is slowly entering the business sector officially due to its vast uses. This has resulted in the increased use of cannabis for medical and recreational purposes. Cannabis (especially Sativa) usually have stimulatory effects combined with body ease effects such as joints pain elimination and bladder anti-inflammation effects. Globally, it is extremely difficult to find a comfortable place where one can easily enjoy both alcohol and cannabis at the same time. It is also difficult to find a place where people can combust cannabis freely. The idea of combining alcohol, cannabinoids (especially CBD, THC) and cannabis terpenes (myrcene etc.) seemed as a great idea because this product is expected to:
1. Reduce violence in alcoholic grounds (cannabis reduce anger exceptionally)
- People who smoke are usually peaceful, and in most cases, they can avoid violence because cannabis decreases anxiety, stress, and depression.
2. Provide an alcohol and cannabis satisfaction to consumer
- This product is expected to satisfy alcohol and cannabis users simultaneously,
3. Eliminate the necessity to combust cannabis in social events
- Non-smokers find it hard to cope with cannabis smoke and scent, thus, cannabis infused alcohol product is thought to be a perfect solution for this matter.
4. Reduce most alcohol-related and physiological complications such as high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, urinary bladder inflammation, joint pain management, followed by treatment of diseases, such as epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.
