Minister of Health Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, along with provincial MECs and HODs of Health in collaboration with SANAC and other stakeholders, will on Tuesday, 25 February, officially launch a national campaign to address HIV treatment enrolment gaps in the country.

Campaign's Overarching Goal: Closing 1.1 Million HIV Treatment Gap by December 2025 to achieve the 2nd 95% target.

Key Priorities:
✅ Increasing access to treatment
✅ Improving men’s health
✅ Enhancing paediatric and adolescent HIV care, particularly in provinces with the most significant gaps

According to the UNAIDS "95-95-95" targets, the second "95%" target refers to 95% of people diagnosed with HIV receiving sustained antiretroviral therapy (ART); essentially meaning that once someone knows they have HIV, they should be started on treatment with ARV medication at a rate of 95%.

With 50 million people affected worldwide, epilepsy is a common and often misunderstood condition.

It is a chronic brain disease that causes recurring seizures, ranging from mild involuntary movements to severe convulsions.

Patients with epilepsy often face neglect and stigma due to the misconception that it's contagious.

In countries like Libya, Doctors Without Borders has treated epilepsy by partnering with health workers to provide training, medication, and clinical supervision.

This work allows people to live more independently and educates communities that those living with epilepsy are not a danger to others.

Share this post and help raise awareness. Let’s beat the stigma together.
