l consultation with the patient without being dictated to by time. Consultations usually last from 90 to 120 minutes, and spouses, especially wives of male patients are welcome. For infertility consultation both partners have to be present, and in the case of under-aged children, at least one parent must accompany the child. Regardless of time, the first consultation has a fixed fee of R1300, and payable either by EFT 24 hours before or cash after consulting. Either way, paperwork will be provided for the patient to claim back from their medical aid, and should they have funds available.
