Today, 17th November is 🤱🏾🤱🏿🤱🏽
Were you born Prematurely or have you given birth prematurely? What do we know about Prematurity?🤔🤔
👼Premature (also known as preterm) birth is when a baby is born too early, before 37 weeks of pregnancy have been completed. The earlier a baby is born, the higher the risk of death or serious disability.
Fortunately we also find the strongest and biggest fighters from our preterm babies..🤗💃
What are some of the risk factors for prematurity?
Its not entirely known as to why some babies are born too early but we do have risk factors that can increase chances for women to give birth prematurely.
However, a woman can still have a premature birth even if she has no known risk factors. 🤷🏾♂️
Some risk factors for preterm birth include:
👼delivering a premature baby in the past,
👼being pregnant with multiples,
👼 to***co use and substance abuse,
👼short time spacing (less than 18 months) between pregnancies.
👼Additionally, pregnancy complications can result in preterm birth because the baby has to be delivered early.
Most hospitals have Neonatal Wards that support preterm babies in every way possible with the best medical teams, including Dietitians.
Dietitians help in the nutritional support of these babies by calculating their daily nutritional and fluid needs and making sure the baby gets fed in the most appropriate way while also work towards building mommy's confidence while in hospital and for when they leave for home.🙂☺️☺️
Let's embrace and support everyone affected by prematurity. Some of the best people we know amongst us were born prematurely ❤🤗
