When you come across a group of bees resting on a wall, a branch, or even on the ground, take a moment to pause. It is usually not an attack or a sign of aggression. In many cases, the bees are simply resting.
Bees may stop temporarily when they are tired, cold, overheated, or conserving energy, especially during long foraging trips or sudden changes in weather. While resting, they are generally calm and focused on recovery.
The best thing to do is to leave them undisturbed. Do not touch them, try to move them, or spray anything on them. Most resting bees will leave on their own once conditions improve.
If you want to help, you can place a small dish of sugar water (a simple sugar–water solution) nearby, at a safe distance. This can provide quick energy for individual bees that are weak, though it should not replace natural food sources.
A resting bee is not a threat.
Bees play a critical role in pollination, supporting wild plants and many of the crops humans rely on.
Without bees, ecosystems and food systems would be seriously disrupted.
