n Paar gedagtes oor terug skool toe gaan…

Die oorgang van vakansie-mode na skool-roetine is nie altyd maklik nie — vir grootmense of kinders. Maar daar’s maniere om die eerste week sagter te maak:
1. 🌙 Begin weer met oggend- en aandroetines — Stel die interne klok stadig weer in. Gaan slaap en staan elke dag bietjie vroeër op oor die volgende paar dae.
2. 🗓️ Gesels liggies oor wat voorlê in kwartaal 3 — Herinner hulle aan die lekker dinge wat wag: sport, kultuur, speletjies, vriendetyd. Dit bou verwagting en positiewe nuuskierigheid.
3. 🍽️ Reël iets lekker vir ná die eerste week — Byvoorbeeld: “Vrydag vier ons met pannekoek!” Gee hulle iets om na uit te sien wat die inspanning beloon.
4. 🧩 Hou die vakansiegevoel lewendig — Skep klein vakansie oomblikke soos ’n gesinsbordspel-aand of buitebraai op ’n weeksaand. Dit help hulle om nie té skielik van vryheid na struktuur te gaan nie.

Hoekom doen ons dit?
Omdat die skielike skuif van ontspanne na intens kan ’n kind se stressrespons aktiveer — hulle voel dit in hul lyf en gemoed. En ja, kinders kan dit hanteer soos ons moes, maar ’n bietjie voorbereiding en gesprek gee vir hulle gereedskap vir selfregulering.

Dis ’n oomblik van verlies van vryheid — van “ek kies” na “ek moet.”
Dis normaal. Dis okay.

Thinking back to our event in Stellenbosch last weekend. We were privileged to empower pregnant moms and their partners, new moms and dads, grannies and aunties. Thank you to our attendees, lucky draw sponsors and of course, our amazingly knowledgeable speakers! We had a successful morning amidst the stormy weather outside, with Brou & Bederf warm drinks and treats throughout the event.

🎈Het jy geweet dat grofmotoriese ontwikkeling die fondasie lê vir fynmotoriese ontwikkeling om daarop te bou? Vir ‘n kind om bv. ‘n kniptakie te voltooi, het hy/sy voldoende (o.a.)
✔️ posturale kontrole
✔️ rompspiersterkte
✔️ fisiese uithouvermoëns
✔️ sitbalans
✔️ bilaterale integrasie en
✔️ skouerstabiliteit
nodig om die fyner hand- en vingerspiere effektief te kan gebruik. Met die koue en nat weer die afgelope naweek in die Kaap, en dit wat verder voorlê soos Winter nader kom, onthou om as daar takies soos Lego-bou of prentjies inkleur binneshuis plaasvind, grofmotoriese aktiwiteite wat die lyfie letterlik “opwarm”, vooraf gedoen kan word.
