What a fabulous afternoon at Brook Meadows!
Today we welcomed a brand‑new face to our home,
The talented Mick Cope!
He treated us to a wonderful acoustic set filled with iconic hits from the 60s, and our residents loved every moment of the singalong.

There were smiles, tapping toes, and plenty of memories shared as those classic tunes filled the room.
We can’t wait to have Mick back again!

On 8th January our residents started a 10 week Wisdom and Wellness programme with Southend United Community Foundation. Jake and George had planned some great games for all residents to take part in. The session was engaging and fun for everyone. We have a very competitive team in Brook Meadows and we are all looking forward to our next session.

A Huge Thank You to Brook Meadows House Staff!

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the amazing staff at Brook Meadows House for making Christmas Day truly special.

Santa Claus and his cheerful team visited the home, spreading joy and delivering presents to our residents. Families and residents gathered together to enjoy a delicious traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

The celebrations continued into the afternoon with festive karaoke, filling the home with laughter, music, and Christmas cheer.

The Quiet Man visited Brook Meadows House on 19th December. The residents thoroughly enjoyed the visit, the singing and The Quiet Man dressed as an elf. This brought a lot of Christmas cheer to our home. As said in the movie ELF
'The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!'

A Huge Thank You to Our Amazing Panto Team!

On 16th and 18th December, the talented staff at Brook Meadows House brought festive magic to life with their Christmas panto,
The Advent Calendar!
Your hard work, creativity, and dedication made this event a joyful success for our residents. The laughter, smiles, and festive cheer were truly unforgettable.
The panto was followed by a heart-warming Christmas sing-along, featuring beloved classics from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
Special thank you to the team: Jessica Stone, Brighton Chitorera, Angel Townsend, Sharnie Hamilton, Robert Davies, Ekaterina Nogteva, Daisy Gleedwood, Norma Reader, Sue Lewis and Lucie Bensley.

Spreading Christmas Cheer at Brook Meadows House!

On the 16th December we were delighted to welcome Southend High School For Boys to Brook Meadows House for a very special festive visit.

The Year 7 Form Captains brought along beautiful handmade Christmas cards for our residents and spent time chatting with them. Their kindness and politeness truly warmed everyone’s hearts.

To make the afternoon even more magical, four talented older students treated us to wonderful live Christmas music, creating a joyful atmosphere while the Year 7s shared smiles and stories.

A huge thank you to these amazing young people for bringing festive spirit and happiness to our home. You made this Christmas extra special for our residents!

Gingerbread House Competition

Some of our residents and staff took part in the Gingerbread House competition. As you can see a lot of time and effort went into creating and assembling their houses and I am sure you will all agree that everyone was a worthy winner. Well Done team I hope they tasted as good as they looked.

A Christmas sing a long morning with Peter George was enjoyed by our residents at Brook Meadows House. Lots of dancing singing and laughter was had by all. All the classics were played from Snow is Falling to Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Our residents spent a lovely day out at Meadow Croft Garden Centre. They thoroughly enjoyed looking round the garden centre at all the Christmas decorations. Val, Pauline and Doris also spent time at The German Christmas Market. Thank you to the Activities Team for arranging such a wonderful day.

Today our residents celebrated King Charles 77th Birthday. Lots of fun and games hosted by our amazing Activities Coordinator Norma. From Royal Bingo to pin the Jewels on the Kings Sceptre. Congratulations to Ron and Jean our winners.
