To avoid an afternoon energy slump, eat something with protein, fibre and healthy fats like avocado or extra virgin olive oil for lunch. Avoid bread as it is likely to give a blood sugar spike followed by a drop which sends you searching for caffeine or chocolate to get an energy boost.

Movement is vital to our health. But it gets forgotten! If necessary, set a reminder on your phone to make yourself MOVE at least every 30 minutes. An essential time to add movement to your day is after you’ve eaten, this will help stabilise your blood sugar balance and reduce that slump you may feel mid morning or mid afternoon 🙂

Rosemary is a herb which is fantastic for boosting memory. Pop some in your water. Shakespeare quoted it in Hamlet, 400 years ago! The old traditional remedies are easily lost in today’s modern medicine but they really are the safest and most trusted. Whilst studying to be a naturopathic nutritionist I’ve learnt so much about natural remedies. I can’t wait to start helping people to heal themselves from within. Breakfast - means breaking your fast! So eat something that’s going to give you sustained energy and is full of nutrients. The cereals like cornflakes, or a piece of toast with butter aren’t going to keep you satiated until lunch. Instead you’ll be reaching for a snack about 11am! Include a protein source too eg nuts, eggs, full fat yogurt, fish for muscles and hormones

It shows how Pilates is fantastic for all ages, from the granddaughter aged 20 wanting to improve posture, the two sisters aged 50ish wanting to build muscle and bone density to the Grandma aged 91!! maintaining balance, strength and mobility.
