💡 Fertility tests are essential for understanding your reproductive health, especially if you’ve been trying to conceive for a while. This week we run through a ⭐ Insights into Fertility ⭐ series to equip you as you begin your fertility journey.

Hormone Tests

Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH): FSH is key in egg development and is tested early in the menstrual cycle.

Luteinizing Hormone (LH): LH is critical for triggering ovulation. LH levels are typically checked with an ovulation predictor test to confirm if and when ovulation is occurring.

Estradiol (E2): Estradiol, a type of estrogen, causes the thickening of the endometrium during the menstrual cycle.

Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH): AMH is a direct marker of ovarian reserve and indicates the number of follicles remaining.

Progesterone: This hormone rises after ovulation. Testing it in the second half of the cycle can confirm if ovulation occurred.

Prolactin: High prolactin levels can interfere with ovulation and are often associated with issues like irregular periods.

Thyroid Function Tests (TSH, T3, T4): Thyroid hormones play a significant role in fertility, and imbalances can lead to menstrual irregularities and ovulation issues.
