Headway Natal is a non-profit organisation assisting survivors of Acquired Brain Injury and Stoke and those who care for them. Our Aims:

1.

To provide information and support to people who have an acquired Brain Injury,

2. To increase public awareness and understanding of Brain Injury.

3.To promote co-ordinated multidisciplinary approaches to Brain Injury screening, acute care, assessment, rehabilitation and community re-entry, with clear accountability at all stages.

Lives are changed in an instant with an acquired brain injury.

Sadly, these injuries have an impact on both the survivor and their families and caregivers.

From leading full and vibrant lives, survivors of a stroke or accident are faced with a long road to rehabilitation and recovery.🧠

And their caring families have to learn to cope with the impairment of mental faculties, paralysis and loss of speech in their loved ones.

We are here to help. 💙

Headway Natal offers a range of unique services in the form of therapies and counselling to help survivors and their families best deal with the disruption to their lives.

🌱 Become a Volunteer with Headway Natal!🌱
Are you looking to make a meaningful impact in our community?

We welcome adults to contact us to find out about volunteer opportunities and to schedule an initial interview.
Three types of volunteer opportunities are offered, depending on experience, interest and availability of programmes:
1. Programme Volunteer* Social groups and therapy groups e.g. baking, sewing, pottery, fabric painting, basket making to name a few.
2. Charity Volunteer -assist in the charity shop, coffee bar etc.
3. Clerical Volunteer - e.g. marketing, newsletters, filing.

These types of volunteers usually come at a set time every week
Why do people volunteer?
* to meet people
* to feel appreciated/needed
* to utilise/develop skills
* to give back to the community
* to make a difference
