MVA, Aan de Doorns, Worcester

A short while ago, thePriority Care team was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident involving a light motor vehicle and a minibus taxi.

All patients were were treated on scene for minor injuries.

HMV Accident, Hex River Pass- De Doorns

At 13:32 Priority Care was dispatched for a heavy motor vehicle accident on the Hex River Pass, direction De Doorns.

On arrival, our crew found 1x driver trapped under the truck and unfortunately succumbed due to his injuries in spite of rescue efforts.

Please be cautious in the area as recovery efforts are still underway .

⚠️ With severe weather warnings issued for the Breede Valley area and surrounds for the next couple of days and rain starts pouring down as weather intensifies, we should be more cautious on the road⚠️

Here are a few quick tips to keep yourself and others safe during heavy rainfall:

✅ Slow Down – Wet roads reduce traction. Reduce speed to maintain control.
✅ Keep Headlights On – Help other drivers see you clearly.
✅ Increase Following Distance – Give yourself more time to react by keeping extra space between you and the car in front.
✅ Avoid Sudden Braking – Brake gently to avoid skidding.
✅ Watch Out for Puddles – Don’t drive through deep water — it can cause you to hydroplane or stall your engine.
✅ Stay Alert – Turn off distractions and stay focused on the road.
✅ If Visibility is Too Low, Pull Over Safely – Rather wait a few minutes than risk your safety.

HEMS- Worcester

Early this morning, the Priority Care team assisted Netcare-8 HEMS , a specialised air ambulances with a critical transfer for a newborn baby from Mediclinic Worcester to Cape Town.

We would like to wish the little fighter a speedy recovery!

Special thanks to the flight crew for their assistance on scene, and entrusting us as their Proud Service Provider.

HMVA- Goudini Way, Rawsonville

At 15:26 Priority Care, and multiple other Emergency Medical Services responded to a Heavy Motor Vehicle Accident on Goudini Way, Rawsonville where a truck overturned entrapping the driver.

Despite the best effort of emergency personally one patient regrettably succumbed due to his injuries.

Our deepest condolences to the family!

Child Protection March, Worcester

A loud procession passed through High Street in Worcester this morning with sirens of Fire engines, Ambulances and Police vehicles blaring.
It is Child Protection Week and the aim of the procession is to draw residents’ attention back to the topic.
Community/ Government organisations and Schools participated in this initiative.

The executive mayor of the Breede Valley Municipality, Antoinette Steyn, reminded residents that the well-being of children is not only a legal responsibility, but the moral duty of every parent, teacher, leader and resident.

Ambulance Manager Arrested, Worcester.

OFFICIAL MEDIA STATEMENT

This morning at around 09:00 Worcester’s Operational Manager, Mr Christiaan van Zyl was arrested by Capital Security Services Worcester - Head Office on charges of being ‘to bougie’

Mr van Zyl is currently being “locked up” for a fantastic reason, and will only be released when he makes bail of R3,500.00

Th ASD Sean Kelly Worcester, a fundraiser in support of ASD Sean Kelly Worcester- a one of a kind non- profit organization that cares for some of the most vulnerable children in our community.
Mr van Zyl was arrested along with other buisness owners, managers and residences in Worcester.

All donations go directly to the Sensory Disabled Group where it makes a huge difference.

Medical Emergency,N1- Worcester

At 14:28 our control room received an emergency call for a vehicle that left the roadway on the N1 next to Worcester Golf course.

On arrival our team found one male patient suffering from a medical emergency and lost control of his vehicle.
He was stabilised on scene by Advance Life Support paramedics before being transported to a nearby facility in a critical condition.
