The brave Marli! One of my patients that was born deaf in one ear. Look carefully - in the middle of the flower is an abutment. We click her hearing aid on this and then she can pick up sounds from both sides. Its called a Bone Anchored System and uses the fact that sound can travel through bone to the cochlea! Its actually been around since the 1970ies!
