MICHAELO LAND SAGA

Allow me to quote from the words of Mr Simpamba and I quote " Let's not break a bird's wings then tell it to fly. I believe that Mr Simpamba can attest that he is trying to block the residents of michealo they chance to hold title deeds to the land which has been in they possession for years. A bit of background on the said land or area, this area used to be a farming block before.

After the council repossessed part of the area, plots were allocated by the council. Certain individuals attempted to grab land from the farmers and failed. Fast forward under the New Dawn government through the area councilor of Kakoso Mr Maluba moved in, per request of the community to have they lands titled. For the purpose of educating Mr Simpamba about the Michelo Community Land, the beneficiaries of the exercise currently underway are those same farmers to whom the land belong to.

Kindly pass through the council and get this information cause you might be the bird that just cut off it's wings and can't fly.

Chililabombwe residents living in Fear after receiving cease and desist letters from KCM

24th August,2022
By Kachinga Chinula

Residents of Chiliilabombwe yesterday 23rd August,2022 received cease and desist letters from KCM and are now living in fear of their properties being destroyed.

Lot 622/M is part of the Lubengele tailings dam which extends to parts of Kamenza East. Residents yesterday stormed the municipal council to lodge a complaint.

What must be understood is that the land legally belongs to KCM, a question must be raised, how did the affected people acquire land from the council?.

I urge Gift Musukwa Vinkhumbo Gift Musukwa Vinkumbo- Former Deputy Mayor C/Bwe former Dupty Mayor of Chiliilabombwe, to come out and explain to the good people of Chiliilabombwe what was going on at the council under his watch, where did they take the monies collected from those illegal sales.

Mr Vinkhumbo should not express ignorance because he was at the helm of the council as acting mayor for the lengthy period of time.

The good people of Chiliilabombwe need answers and they need them now!.

It's worth noting that when Hon Paul Kabuswe MP, was mayor the council encumbrance free in terms of land allocation.

We demand an explanation and not the usual UPND does not care for the poor story, we paid for the land and we need answers!

KABUSWE SCORES BIG
===============================

By Chililabombwe Connect.
It takes a year and half to see the full capabilities of an appointmented minster in office but the story of Hon Paul Chanda Chongo Kabuswe is certainly different. The Mines and Minerals Development Minister has demonstrated how visionary he is in his leadership style. As the President said "Zambia is now back in the champions league". With Hon Paul Kabuswe as the Minister the country Is slowly getting there as one of Africas biggest exporters of copper.
It sounded like a dream which might take a miracle but the investment that the mines have begun to receive, has slowly shown that the much projected 3 million copper production pre year will soon become a reality. The instruction to ZCCM HI to have negotiations with Vedanta Resources over the KCM saga has shown his interest to the mining firm getting back on track rather than waiting for a court case next year.
The negotiations between ZCCM HI and Vedanta Resources will give a fresh breathe to residents of the mining towns that KCM operates from. The search for a new investor might take time and the need to settle the issues around the mine will boost the economy of Chililabombwe. Chililabombwe is faced with high unemployment and if KCM is unlocked and back on it's track, we expect job opportunities for the residents.

FRA REVISES 2022 WHITE MAIZE BUYING PRICE FROM K160 PER 50KG BAG INITIALLY ANNOUNCED TO K180 FOR 50KG BAG

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

08th July, 2022

FRA REVISES 2022 WHITE MAIZE PURCHASE PRICE

Pursuant to Section 22 (2) (b) of the Food Reserve Act, No. 6 of 2020, the Food Reserve Agency wishes to inform the Small Scale Farmers and the general public that the FRA 2022 White Maize Purchase price has been revised from K160 per 50 Kg to K180 per 50 Kg Bag or equivalent to K3, 600 per Metric Tonne and K3.6 per Kilogramme. This therefore supersedes the earlier announcement made on 16th June 2022.
This revision has been done in view of the current market dynamics and on the premise of ensuring that farmers recover their production costs especially in striking a balance with those that did not benefit from the Farmer Input Support Programme.
It is envisaged that this price will further ensure a boost in Maize production and improved productivity amongst our Small Scale Farmers for the upcoming and future agriculture seasons that will guarantee increased income and diversified opportunities in Agricultural Trade and value chains both locally and regionally.
Further the Agency wishes to assure the farmers that the Agency will operate at least 1,257 satellite depots across the country, as was the case last year. As the recruitment and training of buyers has started, the Agency is anticipating to start opening up satellite depots by Wednesday13th July 2022 and commence purchase of the three designated crops namely Non GMO White Maize, Soya Beans and Paddy Rice where the Moisture Content has reached acceptable standards.
