We attend to the patient whose condition is more serious not the one who arrived first. This is not favouritism; this is saving lives.

Examples:

Someone with a mild fever or headache may wait longer because they are stable.

Someone who is struggling to breathe, bleeding heavily, unconscious, or in critical danger will be seen immediately, even if they arrived later.

This is why you may see another patient being taken in before you.
It is not because we know them , it is because their life may be at risk.

Miss Independence Chililabombwe Mercy, together with her second princess, had the privilege of donating a box of dates from Saudi Arabia, some packets of 2 kg sugar, and a case of Juwisy drinks to the hospital.

The woman had been living with this huge uterine fibroid for over two years. She was scheduled for a myomectomy, but the procedure was postponed several times due to anemia. Today, the surgical team at Kakoso First Level Hospital decided to proceed with the operation, and we are thrilled to report that it was a success! Instead of a myomectomy, a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy (TAH) was performed. The fibroids weighed a whopping 3.655 kg! The team was comprised of Dr. Reuben Kapipi (surgeon), Mr. Henry Kasonde (senior anesthetist), Mr. Isaac Simbaya (attending anesthetist), Sr. Abigail Mwandila-Chilufya (scrub nurse and assistant surgeon), Sr. Ketty Mwale (runner), and student nurses from Stalla Crown College of Nursing and Ideal College of Nursing and Applied Sciences (Queen, Machayi, and Rachael). This amazing outcome has brought immense joy to the patient and her family! 🙌👏

Clinical meeting on resuscitation of the pregnant woman, receiving donations from Rotary Club, keynote from the Nursing Officer Care and Standards on students rules during their training and farewell to Nchanga College of Nursing and Midwifery students and Stalla Crown College of Nursing students. It was a packed week full of activities. And not forgetting Ideal College of Nursing and Applied Sciences students who are still with us.
