*Chipata city 2026 aspiring mayoral candidate urges citizens to vote wisely*
An aspiring mayoral candidate for Chipata City in 2026 Johnston Silungwe, has urged citizens to obtain their voter's cards in a timely manner.
Speaking at Nazareth Baptist Church, Silungwe emphasized the importance of exercising one's rights through voting, rather than relying on handouts from politicians in exchange for votes.
Silungwe stressed that community members have the power to drive positive change and should not be swayed by politicians who offer transportation or other incentives in exchange for votes.
He encouraged the congregation to vote wisely and avoid being divided by politics.
Meanwhile, Silungwe called on the community to speak out if government programs, such as cash-for-work initiatives, are not meeting their needs.
He says by doing so, citizens can ensure their voices are heard and hold leaders accountable.
