We were honoured to be visited by the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of the Czech Republic during our paediatric surgical mission with MEDEVAC. Moments like these remind us that caring for children’s hearts is not just about medicine; It is about hope, compassion, and standing together to give every child a chance at a healthier future.

We are deeply moved by FNB’s donation to our pediatric ward. This support, received on 13 November 2025, will touch the lives of children and families who are going through some of their hardest moments. Knowing that FNB stands with us gives our little patients not just better care, but a little more hope and comfort. For that, we say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Our team visited Chitokoloki Mission Hospital to review post operative patients and screen individuals presenting with cardiac symptoms. Recognising that many of our patients travel long distances for specialised care, such visits ease the follow up process and ensure continuity of treatment.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Chitokoloki Mission Hospital team for their collaboration and support in facilitating this important work.

Our team visited the facility to review our old patients and screen individuals presenting with cardiac symptoms. The new patients have since been referred to the National Heart Hospital for specialised cardiac care. Together, we remain committed to strengthening the continuum of heart health services across Zambia.

The National Heart Hospital conducted an in-house training on basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS). This was offered to the new members of staff who have joined our institution in the recent past. Ten nurses and ten doctors were equipped with the knowledge and skills required to manage different critical life-threatening situations a patient may present with. As the world celebrates World Anaesthesia Day which falls on 16th October, with the theme for the year 2025 being Anaesthesiology in Health Emergencies, this training highlights not only the crucial role that anesthesiologists play in responding to critical situations but their role in capacity building of other health workers through continued medical education. Congratulations to the Department of Cardiac Anaesthesia and Critical Care for pulling this off as you commemorate World Anaesthesia Day 2025!

National Heart Hospital was honoured to host the Official Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Construction of the New University Teaching Hospital’s -Eye Hospital ,a milestone towards improving specialised healthcare in Zambia.

The ceremony marks a major step in advancing Zambia’s healthcare system. The new Eye Hospital will enhance access to specialised eye care, and strengthen the nation’s capacity to provide quality medical services for all.
