Anaïs Nin's insightful quote, "We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are," beautifully captures how our experiences color our world.

Imagine two people witnessing a loud argument on the street. One person, who grew up with secure attachment figures, might feel concerned but not necessarily unsafe. Their past experiences have equipped them with a sense of trust in the world. However, someone who has experienced trauma might react with intense fear or anxiety, their internal filters interpreting the argument as a potential threat.

When we are able to recognize how our own experiences shape our judgments, we can approach each other with more openness and create a space where everyone feels safe to express themselves. It's all about appreciating the unique filters we all wear, and using them to build bridges of connection, not walls of misunderstanding.

More than 500 teens on ART in Chipata

Over 500 adolescents aged between 15 and 19 in Chipata were in the third quarter of this year put on anti-retroviral therapy (ART) treatment.

District adolescent health focal point Khloe Hantumba says 561 adolescents on ART include 331 females.

Ms Hantumba said during a presentation at the district adolescent technical working group meeting that in the second quarter of this year, 338 females and 234 males were put on ART treatment.
